Common Issues#

Data Not Syncing#

If data doesn't appear in your Figma layers:

1. Check marker names — ensure they exactly match column headers (case-sensitive)
2. Verify frame selection — frames must be selected before syncing
3. Check data source — make sure the Google Sheet is publicly shared or the file is valid

Google Sheets URL Not Working#

If the plugin can't read your Google Sheet:

1. Make sure the sheet is shared with "Anyone with the link" permission
2. Verify the URL is for a Google Sheets document (not Docs or Slides)
3. Try re-copying the URL from the browser address bar
4. Check that the sheet contains data in the first sheet/tab

Wrong Data in Layers#

If layers receive incorrect data:

• Check that your column headers are unique — duplicate headers cause confusion
• Verify that you've selected the correct frames
• Make sure your spreadsheet doesn't have empty rows at the top

Images Not Loading#

If image URLs in your spreadsheet aren't being applied:

1. Verify the URLs are direct image links (ending in .jpg, .png, .webp, etc.)
2. Make sure the images are publicly accessible
3. Check that the target layer is an image/rectangle layer (not a text layer)
4. Try opening the URL in a browser to verify it works

Special Characters Display Incorrectly#

If text with special characters (accented letters, CJK characters) doesn't display correctly:

1. For CSV files, ensure UTF-8 encoding
2. For Google Sheets, special characters should work automatically
3. Check that your Figma font supports the characters

Performance Issues#

Sync Is Slow#

For large datasets:

• Reduce the number of selected frames
• Simplify the frame structure (fewer nested layers)
• Close unused Figma files to free memory
• Use CSV instead of Google Sheets URL for faster local processing

Plugin Crashes#

If the plugin window closes unexpectedly:

1. Refresh the Figma page
2. Try with fewer frames selected
3. Check if your spreadsheet has an unusually large number of columns
4. Update Figma to the latest version
