Troubleshooting FrameSaver
Common Issues#
Plugin Not Found#
If you can't find FrameSaver in the Plugins menu:
- Make sure the plugin is installed — visit the Figma Community page and check the install status
- Try refreshing the page (
Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + R) - Check if your Figma desktop app needs an update
No Sections Detected#
FrameSaver requires Figma sections to organize exports. If the plugin reports "No sections found":
- Make sure you have at least one section in your file
- Sections are created via right-click → Add section or by using the Section tool
- Ensure your frames are direct children of sections (not nested inside other frames within the section)
Sections in Figma are different from frames and groups. They appear as labeled regions on your canvas with a colored header bar.
Export Takes Too Long#
Large files with many frames can take time to process. Try these optimizations:
- Reduce image sizes — embedded images inside frames increase processing time
- Export in batches — select specific sections rather than the entire file
- Close other files — free up browser/app memory
- Use 1x scale — higher scales multiply processing time
Files Missing from Export#
If some frames are missing from the ZIP:
- Verify the frames are inside sections (not at the root canvas level)
- Check that frames aren't hidden — hidden frames are skipped
- Make sure frame names don't contain invalid characters
Quality Issues#
If exports look blurry or pixelated:
- Increase the scale — 2x or 3x for sharper results
- Use PNG format — JPG adds compression artifacts
- Check frame content — low-resolution embedded images will look blurry at any scale
Subscription Issues#
License Not Recognized#
If the plugin doesn't recognize your subscription:
- Make sure you're signed in with the same Figma account used to purchase
- Check your subscription status in your dashboard
- Try uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin
- Contact support if the issue persists
