Getting Started with BG Remover
Installation#
- Open any Figma design file
- Go to Menu → Plugins → Manage plugins
- Search for "BG Remover"
- Click Install
Quick Start#
Step 1: Select an Image#
Click on any image in your Figma file. The image can be:
- An image fill on a rectangle or frame
- A direct image layer
- Any layer with an image fill
Step 2: Open the Plugin#
Launch BG Remover from Menu → Plugins → BG Remover or search with Ctrl/Cmd + /.
Step 3: Remove Background#
Click the Remove Background button. The AI will:
- Analyze your image (1-2 seconds)
- Identify the subject and background
- Remove the background with precision
- Show you a before/after preview
Step 4: Apply the Result#
If you're happy with the result, click Apply. The image in your Figma design will be replaced with the background-removed version.
Quick Workflow
Select image → Open plugin → Click remove → Apply. The entire process takes about 3 seconds.
Understanding Credits#
BG Remover uses a credit system:
- Free credits: 5 credits every week (resets Monday)
- Purchased credits: Buy packs that never expire
- Cost: 1 credit per background removal
Free Credits#
Every user gets 5 free credits per week. No signup or account is required to use free credits. Credits reset every Monday at midnight UTC.
Purchasing Credits#
For heavier usage, you can purchase credit packs:

- Avoid complex edges — hair and fur are handled well, but extremely fine details may need manual cleanup
